Explain the difference between data and information? Give an example of each?

Data is a collection of raw statistics or details, data is what is inputed into any system, hence it can meaningful or otherwise. Examples of what data can be in form of, are symbols, characters, numbers etc.

Information 
Information; root word is latin "inform are" meaning "to instruct". Information is "a signal or character (as in a communication system or computer) representing data" (Merriam-Webster, 2018). Information is the end result of processing data, hence it is always meaningful.
Information can be Year-End Financial Report for an organization, Result of accumulated data to create knowledge, Surveys,
